Six New 45nm CPUs From AMD in 3Q09

DigiTimes, citing anonymous industry sources, claims that AMD will launch six 45nm processors for its business class lineup in the third quarter of 2009. AMD did not respond to this report saying the company “does not comment on unannounced products.”

The planned CPUs are the dual-core Athlon X2 B23 (2.9GHz/2MB) and B21 (2.7GHz/2MB), triple-core Phenom II X3 B73 (2.8GHz/7.5MB) and B71 (2.6GHz/7.5MB), and quad-core Phenom II X4 B93 (2.8GHz/8MB) and B91 (2.6GHz/8MB), the sources indicated.

Wired has a list of their “top technology breakthroughs of 2008.” This year didn’t see many jaw-dropping technical achievements but there were still enough to compile this list. Let us know what your favorites were and share some tech that didn’t make the list.

When it came to products, incremental improvements were the name of the game this year. Phones got faster, notebooks turned into netbooks and pocket cameras went from recording standard-definition video to HD. I have a new hero, rocket sled man!



Leave it to the unbelievable imagination of the ROCKETMAN, Ky michaelson, to dream up this latest rocket powered vehicle. Although it's not very hard to believe once you think about all of the other vehicles Ky has rigged a rocket to. The intriguing part about this suped-up radio flyer is that Ky was inspired after staring at a toy sled only a fraction of the size of a real radio flyer.
